Joe's Blend Coffee, box of 10

A typical 3-in-1 is instant coffee, creamer and sugar, and by weight the sachet is mostly the last two. Joe's Blend is honest about that: organic raw cane sugar is the first ingredient printed on our box and Arabica instant coffee the fourth. What differs is which coffee (100% Arabica), which sugar (organic raw cane) and what else is in the sachet: L-theanine, L-glutathione and L-carnitine. Instant coffee is brewed coffee that has been dried, so what matters is what went into the cup before drying. Joe's Blend uses 100% Arabica instant coffee and adds L-theanine, L-glutathione and L-carnitine in a 21 g sachet. We do not add artificial colour. Every ingredient is listed under Read the label.

It depends what you want from the cup. If you want a 3-in-1 that is 100% Arabica, works hot or iced, and carries L-theanine, L-glutathione and L-carnitine in one sachet, that is exactly what we make. Joe's Blend is. The only coffee on our box is Arabica instant coffee (Coffea arabica seed extract), and no Robusta is listed. Robusta is the other main commercial coffee, and in lab tests of green beans from nine countries it had more caffeine than Arabica every time.

They are two species: Arabica is Coffea arabica and Robusta is Coffea canephora, the two main commercial coffees. Labs can tell them apart by their caffeine and phenolic compounds, and in green beans from nine countries Robusta had more caffeine than Arabica every time. Joe's Blend is Arabica only: the box lists Arabica instant coffee and no Robusta.

Brewed coffee gives you control and freshness; instant gives you 30 seconds and no equipment. A good instant starts from good beans, which is why the base of Joe's Blend is 100% Arabica rather than a blend. If you want the ritual of brewing, visit a cafe. If you want a cup at your desk in 30 seconds, the sachet is for that.

L-theanine is the amino acid found naturally in green tea. Research on the caffeine and L-theanine pairing has looked at attention and alertness. We describe what the studies discuss; we do not promise how you will feel.

Each sachet weighs 21 g in total, and the coffee in it is 100% Arabica. No L-theanine or caffeine amount is printed on the box, and the Eurofins figures we publish are the nutrition panel, so we do not quote a number for either. Lab tests of green beans found less caffeine in Arabica than in Robusta, but that cannot tell you the caffeine in a sachet, which depends on how much instant coffee each 21 g holds.

Glutathione is a tripeptide the body makes itself, built from three amino acids, and it is studied mainly as an antioxidant. It is a familiar name in the Philippines because of capsules and drips. We put it in the sachet so the daily coffee habit carries it; we make no claim about what it will do for you.

No, Joe's Blend is not sold as a whitening coffee, and we do not make skin whitening claims. What we can say is that glutathione is studied as an antioxidant and that it is in every sachet. Anything beyond that is a claim we will not make.

L-carnitine is a compound the body makes from two amino acids. Its job in the cell is transport: it carries fatty acids into the mitochondria, where they are turned into energy. That is the mechanism the research describes, not a promise about you. It is in every Joe's Blend sachet.

Check each product. The Philippine FDA registers food products with a Certificate of Product Registration (CPR), and it has warned the public not to buy an unregistered slimming coffee. It is a 100% Arabica coffee with L-theanine, L-glutathione and L-carnitine, and we describe each ingredient by what research discusses about it, nothing more. If a coffee promises you will lose weight, that is the claim to be careful with.

One 21 g sachet of Joe's Blend is 92 calories with 10 g of sugars, per the Eurofins lab report. Calories in any 3-in-1 come mostly from the creamer and sugar, and ours uses organic raw cane sugar and a non-dairy creamer. One cup a day is a small part of anyone's total; the rest of the day decides the rest.

Dissolve the sachet in about 80 ml of hot water first, so the coffee and creamer melt fully. Fill a tall glass with ice, pour the coffee over it, then top with cold water or milk and stir. For hot, the box says one sachet in 200 ml of hot water; stir for ten seconds. Both take under a minute.

Yes. The box we checked carries a batch code, a manufacturing date and an expiry date: MFG 14 May 2025 and EXP 14 May 2027, two years apart. The box also says to store it at no more than 30°C, so keep the sachets sealed, dry and out of direct sun; a kitchen cupboard is fine, a car dashboard is not.
